How many players do they average per day now? Interesting, I might start playing there myself.

I don't think they've merged the two systems yet -- in fact I'm not sure they are even going to (was stated they'll run both brands), but they indeed ought to.

www.pokersitescout.com will show it when/if they do. You can't really just add the two numbers together, because some players may play both now -- but perhaps add them together less 10-15% and you'll get an idea how big they'd be if they merge the systems.

SportingBet PLC paid $347.5M for Paradise Poker, and now Paradise is not even a major poker room. They ought to have sold it along with Sportsbook.com.

the won´t merge the systems

That will be a pain in the ass and some customers might not like it.

The will keep working as separate brands is what I´ve heard.

Operating seperate brands does not preclude "networking" the back-ends so players participate in the same collection of tables and tournaments, like other poker networks (e.g. Tribecca).

Therefore running "seperate brands" is vague with respect to their intentions there.

Added critical mass (for MTT's and higher limit games) provides some benefit to doing so, along with bragging rights (combined they'd be the 4th largest poker room/network in the market by a margin, behind PokerStars, PartyPoker and FullTilt).

Paradise was dumb... there were some people there I heard weren't the most creative, ballsy, and shall I say humble.

AP one the otherhand has some talent, a good brand, and smart people working there. I think AP will definitely go far.

I agree, I think AP are more in tune with what customers want and they certainly didn't have the capital that paradise had. Paradise had a good opportunity to be in the top 3 sites in terms of players but they never amounted to this. To me that shows the people behind the scenes were not doing the best job and not enough creativity there. I will be adding AP to my list very soon.

Both of them use different softwares, I am no "techie" like you, but I am sure it won't be easy to have both networks connected if running different softwares...

Either they merge Ultimate Bet with Absolute's software, since I don't think they will throw away Absolute's or have them as separate companies owned by the same beast....

Rake programming for every room is different and having two different companies with different softwares working together would be too much hassle...

Imagine a Prima Network working with IPoker, (Microgaming and Playtech) it wouldn't be possible, guaranteed. Also tournament structure will be seriously affected.

Migrating software is a major undertaking, but so is developing (or licensing) and supporting two different software platforms.

I imagine it will be done (that eventually they will share the same codebase and be skinned).

What is the status of Ultimate Bet's software, formerly provided by its former parent company, Excapsa Software Inc?

Oct 12 -- Excapsa announces that it has sold all of the shares of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Excapsa Services Inc. and Game Theory Holdings Limited, to Blast Off Limited, a privately owned company based in Malta and a current licensee of the Excapsa Gaming Network.
Blast Off is a Malta-based private company that currently licenses Excapsa software. According to Pokernews.com, "Blast Off Ltd. operates Online Elimination Blackjack TM and was associated with Excapsa via the Ultimate Blackjack Tour, the brainchild of former WSOP Champion and Team UltimateBet member Russ Hamilton.
Nov 1 -- Excapsa Software Inc. (AIM: XCP) advises that the information circular containing details of the Company's recent sale of all operating assets has been posted to shareholders today in connection with a meeting of shareholders to be held on 24 November 2006.
